STORY BY A. RACEY

Sunday, April 17 is the third annual Conquering Cancer One Laugh at a Time comedy show, hosted by Teams Little Princess and Hope Givers. The event takes place at Rochester Mills 400 Water Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m. It will benefit Relay For Life of Rochester, Mich.

The show will welcome back the energetic, funny and charming Paolo Busignani as its host.  Busignani has Italian in his blood, which gets audiences rolling with laughter, and his hint of Mid-Western charm adds to his boisterous demeanor.  He speaks about his family, painful life lessons, being a father, and his numerous opinions that make his audience feel a part of his world.  It’s an experience you’re not to forget.  His passion for helping others through charities, including children and cancer research, brought him to the stage. And one thing everyone can agree on… he’s hilarious.

The show will also welcome 25-year-old Khurum Sheikh, a veteran of the Ann Arbor Police Department.  The Pakistan native has done stand-up comedy all over America, and this year he will be the only Pakistani Police Officer doing stand-up comedy in Rochester.

The show will feature Dave McDonald, who was once voted class clown by his police academy. He retired from a life of fighting crime, and now occupies his free time cracking jokes about his observations of everyday life events.

When thinking of the American Dream you might envision a supportive family, a loving relationship, and children who adore you. However, if you’re Zach Martina, then it’s a recipe for skepticism and anxiety.  Martina will be the headliner of the evening, using his sarcastic wit, creative wordplay and lovable arrogance to bring personality to audiences across the country.  He has been fortunate enough to share many stages with the hilarious Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, Hannibal Buress and Rory Scovel.

Martina brings energy to the stage and points the finger of blame at everyone, except himself.

Those interested in a night of non-stop laughter and entertainment must be at least 18-years-old.
